Financial Durable Power of Attorney: What Every Social Worker Needs to Know – 1 Hour CEU for Social Workers

This course will teach Social Workers all they need to know about Durable Powers of Attorney – both Financial & Medical. They will learn who needs a DPOA, capacity requirements for signing a DPOA, the cautions & threats of not having a DPOA, and much more. The instructor will explain Advanced Directives, how they differ from DPOAs, and how they can add to the value of them, allowing the principal to make important decisions for him or herself. Attendees will learn how a power of attorney differs from court guardianship/ conservatorship, and the different ways you can design a power of attorney to work best for the principal.
